  • 6/8/2005 - The solutions for the two midterms are posted. Please note, due to a typographical error, there was no correct solution for question 3 on midterm II! The typo has been fixed (please look at the exam online to see. The correct solution is b. This has been taken into account in the grading.
  • 5/31/2005 - There will be a quizz in class Thursday, June 2, 2005.  The material to be covered comes from chapter 9, section 9.1.
  • 5/31/2005 - Extra credit can be earned by turning in your attempts at the following problems at the beginning of the final exam at 7:30 am on June 9, 2005:
    • Ch. 8 - questions 8 and 9, and 
    • Ch. 8 - problems 1 and 2.
    • These are here.
  • There will be a guest lecturer in class Tuesday. May 24th.  He will cover material to be included on the Final exam from chapter 8 (acoustics).
  • Exam next Thursday, May 26th.  Click here for subjects covered.
  • Remember!  There will two more quizzes in class on Thursday, May 19th !!  
    • The subject for these will be chapter 6.
    • They are open book
    • One point awarded for each attempted solution turned in.

  • Extra credit is available to those who did not bring an instrument to class.

    • Hand these in to me in class on May 19th - no sooner nor later, please.
  • Extra credit is available for those who bring an instrument to class on Tuesday May 3rd, 2005 and are willing to make sounds with it.
  • The schedule has been updated to reflect where we are now.
  • You may bring a calculator and your text book to the exam.  Exam is open book.
  • Solutions for third assignment now avaialble from "Homework solutions"
  • The notes for the first midterm can now be linked from "Exams" below.
  • Test book is "The {hysics of Sound", R. Berg and G. Stork, 3rd Ed., Prentice Hall.
  • The syllabus in in preparation.
