Using IDL

IDL installations

There are TWO installations of IDL:

• One is on larry.geop.uc.edu, which has got 1 license.
• The other is on mono.phy.uc.edu, which has got 2 licenses.

Default setup for IDL

The following machines are setup to use the IDL installation on larry by default.

• blossom
• lori
• cecilia
• nikita

Switching between different installations of IDL

Anybody logged into above mentioned machines could switch back & forth between the installations in larry and mono by using the following commands, before running IDL.

• To use the installation at mono: use_idl_on_mono
• To use the installation at larry: use_idl_on_larry
