In this figure, the black curve is the basic experiment trigger, T34. The red curve is V1T2.T34, requiring the cosmic ray to pass through the center of the upper veto and through the small lower trigger counter. The blue histogram is the CR trigger with the upper and lower vetos defining the aperature of the experiment (this is the trigger the detector was designed for.
Assuming that the three curves are the same, then the long tail on the T34 triggers can be fit for the scintillation time. That is one in the following figure:
The fit tail has a decay time of about 4 nsec. The zero time peak is still a mystery to us.
