Starting a new ClassTalk Folder: you're in the Demonstration Catalog
the "Toy Man"
These instructions assume you have a passwork and a working knowledge of Mac OS's. If you don't have a password, have forgotten your password, or need help with Mac issues you will need to contact the the "Toy Man" who will be happy to assist.
- Create a new folder on the Deskop.
- Rename your new folder with a name that will reflect your class.
- Open the ClassTalk folder
- Open the New Folder Files folder which you will find in the ClassTalk folder.
- Duplicate these files which are in the New Folder Files folder:
- Classroom.config;
- ClassTalk preferances;
- Instructor list; and
- Task Template.
- Drag the new files into your new folder
- Close the New Folder Files folder
- Edit the name of each duplicated file in your new folder to delete the word 'copy'
- Envoke ClassTalk 1.50.9
- Log in. The office mode is preferable. You will be quried to open a class file. Instead,
- Open your new folder;
- Select Create New ClassFile;
- Enter the desired name of your file; and
- Click on [OPEN].
The folder is prepared, you're ready for the new quarter! Instructions for class room use will be found under in the Class Room in the How to Run a Question and Other Tricks pages.
To quit (this time):
- Pull down the FILE menu;
- Choose QUIT; and
- Choose the [Don't Save & Quit] option.
It's now safe to shut down the Mac.
